Statement from FH Labour Group on rough sleepers in our area – 30th March 2020

The Folkestone and Hythe Labour Group is disappointed to still see people sleeping rough in the district. Speaking to people over the weekend, rough sleepers have stated that they would like to be housed and have not been approached by anyone from the council. We understand the pressures that the council and all services are under and call on them to work together, to use some of the £469,000 they have been allocated from the rough sleeping initiative and to speak out where problems are occurring. This scheme should include anyone currently in temporary accommodation that does not meet the social distancing guidelines.
