2021 Election Action

The 2021 Local Election Campaign was launched on Thursday 11 March and we are now pressing home the case for Labour candidates to be elected.

We have great candidates for these Folkestone & Hythe Constituency wards!

  • Jackie Meade for Folkestone East
  • Laura Davison for Folkestone West
  • Paul Bingham for Cheriton, Sandgate & Hythe East
  • Tony Goode for Hythe West and Dymchurch
  • Tony Cooper for Romney Marsh
  • Chris Deane for Elham Valley

In addition, we have candidates standing for the Parish/Town Council in three areas.

  • Jon O’Connor for Folkestone Town Central Ward
  • John Davies for New Romney
  • Paul Carey for New Romney

There are several ways our supporters can help us win seats on Kent County Council and Town Councils in Folkestone and Hythe… here are a few ideas.

  1. Election Extra – volunteer to help with election jobs during the campaign or on Polling Day, May 6th
  2. Phone for Folkestone!
  3. Social Media Mogul: echo and share our social media channels to make us the biggest noise around!

Phone for Folkestone

We’d love you to join us for our regular phone bank sessions on Saturdays from 4-5pm, when we work as a team to contact voters by phone and encourage Labour supporters to register for a postal vote

We have regular Zoom “Phone for Folkestone” sessions using the ‘Dialogue’ Labour Party contact system
Training is available online and on request!
These sessions include a quick refresher on using Dialogue to contact voters. We then have a 30-minute session contacting voters in the Folkestone area and go through a short 6-question survey with them.
Afterwards we get back together to see how it went for everyone and discuss any issues or problems encountered.

Using Dialogue to contact voters is a bit like door knocking in the comfort of your own home with a cup of tea!.

Folkestone West candidate Laura Davison says:
Phone banking is a great way to listen to local people and hear their views about how the government is handling the Covid crisis and about how people plan to vote in May’s elections. It’s also a chance to speak to people about the importance of having a postal vote”.

Our sessions are really supportive, and our Secretary Chrissie is always on hand to answer any questions.
Our members are our strength when it comes to any election so please grab a cuppa and join us at these sessions to help us “Dial for Victory!”
